Default B18c Difference

When you look at the b18c engine, how can you tell if it's the JDM or USDM. Doesnt the Type R have the VTEC wording in bold, and on the other has the DOHC in bold? Please explain why I am thinking this.

Default Re: B18c Difference (SmrCRX)

Look at the code on the engine block. The USDM GSR is stamped B18C1. The Type R is stamped B18C5 (front near the transmission bell housing). The JDM SiR is stamped B18C. There are other numbers too, but those are the basics.

The GSR engine also has a dual-stage intake manifold, whereas the ITR has a single stage version.
