Default B18C 96 spec, having problem IDing, need some help

My Buddy just called and ask me something, Would like some help from you guys. thnaks.

He recently purchased a 96 spec B18CR (JDM). same as mine but my long block is in tuner im not able to check it. the bottom end stamped P72, oil pan P72 rods stamped P72, is he screwed by buying a R block with a GSR bottom? But the pistons are stamped P73, stock 81.00mm. there are 4 oil spray thing (point to cylinder) i look from bottom which i understand only R block got it.

my own question : is it that much of a difference IF a C1 bottom swapped all C5 parts in it. compare to a stock C5 block?

I went to his house and also find out the head stamped PR3, year 96 out from factory. i remember if this is a B16 head? but the valves are R valves by its look ( center part diameter of valve slightly smaller), the retainers and springs been changed im not able to ID it at all. Dizzy is not for a R for sure. is there any way to ID the head if its an R or B16s? maybe intake/exhaust diameter?

I disassemble the tranny, there is a stock LSD, FD is 4.4, didnt calculate its gear ratio yet. which im going to find out soon

please if anyone can help if hes scammed, thanks

Update:

There is a Block guard thing cover half of the crankshaft (cyl 2 and 3 area ), that is only available in B16B and 18R block right?

i cant comment on much except I know the girdle on the bottom end that connects main caps 2-3-4 is used on the b18c, b18c type-r and b16b engines.
