Default B18B1 ODB1 to ODB2 Conversion ::Update::

Hi I'm planning to run the Greddy turbo kit in my 95 SE, which is ODB1, and as known the kit is only for ODB2 Tegs.

I am planning to convert my car to ODB2 with a JDMhondaparts jumper and an ODB2 LS 5-speed ECU. I know that there is an additional O2 sensor after the cat which can be fixed by the ECG curcuit.

Is there any other diffulculties that I may need to address for the conversion?

Thank you.

what exactly is it that makes the kit OBDII. My friend put a 92-95 greddy turbo kit on his ZC, and it works fine. Is there a specific feature or requirment that needs ODBII.

I found the answer, thanks to Katman from JDNHondaparts.com. to them.

If you're going to use a US OBD2 ecu in your OBD1 vehicle, you'll need the ecu jumper of course and to hardwire in the CKF sensor (crank sensor integrated on the oil pump) and 2nd 02 sensor. Otherwise the OBD2 will have a fit and throw a check engine light for those 2 sensors and will not run good.

</TD></TR></TABLE> How do you "hardwire the CKF sensor?" Can you explain please.

I'm not sure if an oil pump for a ODB2 B18B1 is required, may have to check a Helms manual(I do not have one but friend does).

But I am confident it is required.

After some research I came up with this pic.

And here's another nice site, that tells a little more about it that I found.

Just wondering...why are you wanting to run OBD2? Just cuz the Greddy kit you are purchasing is for an OBD2 application?
Why not just stay OBD1 and run a OBD1 P75 ECU....

Yes, just for the Greddy kit, and I want it as non-invasive as possible.

Also the Greddy kit w/ the Bluebox does not work for anything but ODB2 Teg's
