Default B18b vs B16a2 distributor ques..?

I got a b16a2 99 SI engine but its missing the distributor. Can a 98 LS distributor work with the b16a2? I was told it cannot directly bolt on so a few mods have to be done by cutting one of the three legs. Now, my question is can it be compatible with the b16 engine electrical wise?

it would be alot easier for you to just buy a new b16 distributor over the revising for the LS distributor.. just through past problems with this sort of deal... I dont even think LS distributors will work for a b16
