changing the rod bolts entitles pretty much for a whole rebuild.... its not just change them and go...there is machining involved wich needs the rod to be out of the engine..
I think you can go safely to 7500- 7800 on stock bolts.
Waterpump also cavitates after like 7400 rpms.

i see no aftermarket valvesprings.. i would not rev higher than like 7200-7300. you are already putting way more stress on the springs by using aftermarket cams.
Stock springs are weak for stock cams..just my opinion

rod/stroke ratio FTW!

Ignore the ls/vtec part, and read the part about r/s ratios.

check the difference between the b18c and b18b R/S, not much of a difference to really worry about unless very high rpms.

well the main reason you cant rev that high is 1.your head .2.b18a or b does not have the oil squirters supplying oil to the sleeves when the piston is going up and 3.no vtec girdle..so I say no more than 7400

the non vtec motor has its own piston squirt lubricating system, through the rod pin hole.
Oil squirters are a neat thing, but not completely nessesary.
the girdle is pretty much only needed if you do lots of high speed highway runs.

Im in no way saying that all those things do do crap, what im saying is that for years and years now, including me, people have been revving their ls block to vtec rev limits with no problems.
rod bolts are the weak link if anything.
