Either will work... The LS will plug straight in... If you use the Civic harness you'll have to rework it for the LS motor and you'll also have to rewire the distributor and injector connectors... Good Luck
what does the rewiring entail..is it a pain in the ***...?? should I just go ahead and buy a wiring harness from an obd1 ls motor?
Oh no... it's not bad at all..... I personally would rather rewire except for the fact that I like my wiring absolutely perfect and cutting the plug off the LS distributor and reconnecting the Civic just doesn't look totally stock... As for the injectors you will need to still get the OBD2 style connectors or you can just use your Civic injectors... They are all the same cc..... If you have to buy a new LS harness then just rewire the Civic but if you had the LS harness on it now it will just plug straight into your car.... Hope this helps... Latez

cool..thanks...I guess i'll save my money and use my civic harness...
is the rewiring difficult or is it pretty straight foward...?? is the distributor plugs the only things i have to swap over?

The wiring is really pretty straight foreward... When I do it i normally make it more complicated for myself cuz like I said I like this **** perfect.... I pull the entire loom apart, add and extend any wires that I need to then reloom it with new loom and wrap it back up so that it looks stock.... The distributor is really the only thing you have to rewire... You should just be able to do it by matching wire colors... As for the injectors it just depends on what you wanna use... If you use your stock Civic ones you won't have to rewire the connectors but if you choose the keep the LS then you'll need 96+ plugs.... I personally like the new plugs better because they look cleaner and are easier to take off... Also when i wire up the connectors at the engine loom to the interior loom i normally add pins in there so that you can just pull the connector apart... You don't have to do this if you have to add any wires in, just hard wire them if you want.... I think i just do this **** cuz i'm weird.. but yea... Hope this helps Latez

yea use the 96 Ls harness with the obd1 p75 it should all plug in. you might have to run a wire from dist to driverside tower for the tach
Well I'm sayin just use the stock Civic harness to save money.... If he doesn't care about that, then yes the LS harness is cheaper and will plug in just as i have always said...
Maybe I'm just ignorant on this subject, but I didn't know that a 96 engine would plug in to a 95 car. I thought it would just be easier to get a 94-95 B18B1 and it would just plug right in. Maybe I'm wrong though.

They are the same thing... The only thing that is different is the distributor plug and injectors... If you did this you'll have to rewire the connectors just as you would on the Civic harness...

Plug and play.
What are you talkin about???? So you are telling me that the 94-95 harness will plug onto the 96+ style injectors... Unfortunately I did my friend's LSVTEC for his 94 Integra a couple months ago and I had to rewire the injectors since we were using 2000 Si head... Same injectors as on the 96+ ****... Also had to rewire the distributor plug...

Then you use a OBD1 LS ecu (PR4, P74, P75) and call it a day.
Understand?
PS, this is not a 96-00 Civic swap, it's for a 92-95 Civic as stated in the first post.
We all know they are different, and please don't compare the 2 swaps. Let's just get the original thread starter the CORRECT information.

Yes i already knew this... When did i ever say that it wouldn't?? Latez
HELLO.....
McFLY! Are you in there....
Why is it, you feel it necessary to start an arguement about "OTHER" swaps, and not stick to the subject at hand?
You could have just told this guy, that the 96 LS engine harness would plug right into his EH chassis, and it would be that easy.
But no, you had to whip your DICK out, and show everyone who is reading this how much of a man you are and how much you know.......
