i spun a bearing on my engine and instead of gettin another LS block, im thinking about getting a CRV block. basically my question is, will this work, and how much more work is involved than putting a b18a head on a b18a block? will this be easy for a mechanic to do? also do u guys reccomend any sites that sell blocks with a warranty? any information anyone can give will be greatly appreciated. TIA
Replacing a broken B18B block with a B20B/Z block is a good idea, and you should have no problems doing the changeover. I reccommend finding a Z block since it has the higher compression and will give you more HP than the B18A block. Both blocks will give you better torque though.
I got a B20Z longblock at a salvage yard and it came with a 6 month warranty. Most places that you buy engines from will have some sort of warranty.
Good luck!
