b18 non-vtec or b16?
what would be faster for bolt on vs bolt on? i currently have a b18 with all major bolt ons but i miss having the DOHC vtec.. would a b16 with same bolt ons be any quicker?? i know the b18 has more torque but wouldn't the ability to rev 1500rpms higher and more hp make it quicker??
well b16 sounds nice but i remember my boy gurl traded his eg for a da9 b18 fully built turbo.it'z a t78 ball bear.da car was from a guy from jdm theory.he throws jdm car shows.she got da car from san jo.da b18 i believe ran a 10.2 but no traction.she be smokn' every car u name.good luck to u.
I guess it depends if you start from a roll or a stop? Yeah the B18 has more torque, and yeah the B16 has more top end power, but take into account the transmissions as well. The B16 has shorter gears, and although you can make high rpm power you aren't holding that power long before you are redlined. The B18 tranny on the other hand has longer gears, and although it can't rev as high, it can hold power for longer.
Me and a friend both had 91 hatches mine is a si and I had a ls swap my friends
was a 91 dx with a b16, we both had the same mods and my si was running 15.3 and his ran 15.5 run after run he never beat me and I'm talking 50 plus runs.
Now I still have the same hatch with a type r swap and running 13.6.
Stick with the b18 and either boost it or spray on it, or get a vtec head.
