b16b timing issue

Default b16b timing issue

this is a friends motor.. a b16b motor complete .. after market intake mani..
adjustable cam gears
well the problem his when the crank is top dead center and we put the cam gears on to put in time the intake cam is off by a tooth when both cam gears are at top dead center as well.. we arent sure as to why it is off... even is like that with stock cam gears.. please help thanks

iam really confused right now.. so i might of typed this up prob. thanks

which timing belt are you using?

I wonder if it's getting trick because it's a b16 with the deck height of a b18c

using a toda b18c timing belt.. but its off before the belt is even back on

im mis-reading something i think but what do you mean off a tooth and cams at TDC? is the top timing mark vertical and the inner marks aligned with the rear timing cover marks? Or do you mean you have to set it off 1 tooth for it to run correctly?

ok well the kids that were working on the motors are not so bright i guess. so i fixed the timing problem.. and now... the cars acts as if there is a rev limit at 1500 rpm. keeps going from like1200-1500 really fast....
