Default b16a2 VTec issues, please help....

Hey everyone, hope you will help on this one.

I bought my Civic 2 years ago, completely stock, with an untouched b16a2 inside. When I drove the car back for the first time, I hardly floored it on the highway and suddenly:the speedmeter goes to 0 mph, no more vtec, then the speedmeter needle goes up and down like crazy !!!! I was pissed but did never happen again.....until last week !!! Now the car has only few mods: air intake, DC Sports 4-2-1, and full inox exhaust. I have an error code says that my O2 sensor is damaged so I drove the car to Honda. They told me that the O2 sensor was OK and the problem is from my DC Sports header. Now everything is getting worse and worse, the needle comes down everytime I pass 7000 rpms wich means no more vtec, poor car!!! The explanation from Honda on this one is that civics from 1993 are equipped with this protection that let the needle goes down to prevent any damage on the engine, because the oil pressure is too high......whatever...

Other few infos: it never happens under 6000 rpm.

Hatchback civics come stock with b16a since 1992 in europe...

I have an oil leakage next to my solenoïd thing...

What could it be? Should I replace my 02 sensor ?

PLease help, I need to sell the car soon.

Really sorry for my English...I am from Switzerland

It is you speed sensor that plugs into your tranny right next to the rear mount. All it takes is one 10mm bolt and it will pull right out! It has a plug connected at the head of it too!

The same thing happend to me, the MPH needle would go crazy, and I would fall out of vtec, turns out it was my VSS... I cant beilive the dealer said what they said to you lol, a oil leakage next to your vtec solenoid is not good
