Default B16a1 integra?

I was thinking of doing a swap in my RS and GSR engines are in demand there price is insane so i was thinking what about a B16A 1.6L JDM DOHC VTEC. They are 170 HP. What would a disadvantage be to this? Also i dont know how well these engines turbo or supercharge so i was wondering if someone could tell me or guide me in some direction hehe.

No torque. All you would do is take a d series and rev it higher.

I know a guy who has basically i/h/e on his 96+ civic hatch back with a b16a engine. He has a lighter flywheel too and he runs 13.8 at the track.

I just put in one of those babies in my car got it real cheap, im using it as a temporary engine after I damaged my old built block. I run 10 psi on it with 70 shot of nos when racing and its working like a dream.

u want to put a b16 in ur teg? not enough torque and you'd have to stroke the motor, might as well get a b18c.

and as for b16a1 -- no such thing, i guess just 'slang' for the 1st gen JDM B16A which is in the 89-91 Integra XSi and EF8 (CR-X VTEC) and EF9 (Civic VTEC) and those are 160, my friend.

Yes, the 92-95 JDM Del Sol VTEC which came with B16A is 170@7800 RPM's same with the 92-00 EG SiR, and only the 92 Integra XSi.

all other B16A's USDM and JDM are 160 HP that means

'nuff said.

o ya and to clarify, ALL B16A's are 111 torque -- not 128 -- i only wish

Im almost 100% sure thats all he had done to it. Ill double check again and let u know and i saw the car gtech at 13.6 so i believe that 13.8 was his track time. As far as having not enough torque thats a good reason and what do you mean by stroke the motor? and about the 128 torque your right i was reading up on **** and i mixed up the stock specs with a dyno of a modded car.

I can believe that, theres a guy here in NZ with I/H/E, slicks and lots of weight reduction who runs 13.1. Stock cams, internals, drivetrain.

Well my friend ran a 14.6 in his bone STOCK B16A2 motor in a CX hatch on street tires, so go figure. You have to remember HP and torque are'nt all that make a car faster.
