Anyone know where i can get b16 Y1 tranny syncros.. my 3rd gear grinding. i gotta get it fix..

 

from what i heard there is no USDM replacement so unless you got a buddy in japan, you're SOL. usually easier to get a new tranny unless you're cheap like me and just double-clutch on every 2-3 shift.

I had the exact same thing, so I got a YS1 GSR cable tranny to replace it. Total bitch to remove the LSD from the Y1 to the YS1, had to machine down the ring gear to fit in the housing because the gear mounts on the opposite side of the differential on the who knows who makes it Honda LSD.

 

look for posts by yell88crx on crx resource. He claims that a-1 trans syncros will fit jdm trans. I personally don't know if it works, but if you got the resoucres to all sorts of cable trans. laying around I would have a go at it.

 

if that is a question (kinda appears like one), quaife was the oe supplier of the LSD's in the y1.

Yes, it is a mystery to me, Thanks. I was under the impression that Quaife or Cusco may have buit this one. It is a clutch type, and will need to be rebuilt sometime in the future, but I have no idea where to get parts for it.
