I am doing a JDM B16a swap into my 91 hatch and want to know what timing belt to use? I got a timing belt for a 1.6 DOHC B series motor from honda but it has 125 teeth on it and the one that came on the motor has 124. Will that extra tooth throw off the cam timing? If so what year, make, and model should I order a timing belt from? Of coarse the Honda dealership here doesn't know what I'm talking about!

 

are you sure you counted the teeth right?or did you get the right timing belt?
cause i've never seen that, all b16 timing belts are the same

 

Well i put a twistie tie on the belt where i started so i knew where to end. And then i noticed that they are marked on the belt with how many teeth there are. So what should i order the belt for? 00 Si, Del Sol Vtec, or does it matter?

doesn't matter, they are all the same

And even if it did have extra teeth it wouldint matter unless it slipped.
