B16a IACV Gasket Compatibility
Ok first off I am new here, I would like to start by saying Hello to Everyone. My current car is a 1990 Ef Hatchback with a JDM b16a from an Integra XSI(1991). I am the 3rd owner, I purchased the vehicle from my friend of 16 plus years. So lately my car has had a funky Idle as most people have had to deal with. I have performed all of the steps in trying to find and cure it,( fitv cleaning and Oem replacement gaskets, Iacv cleaning and Oem Gaskets, checked timing, checked for Vacuum leaks, checked Plugs and Wires, checked the Cooling system, Checked the Ecu). So the idle started hunting at Startup, took out the Fitv, cleaned and reassembled like the tread in here showed, got Honda Gaskets for a 1995 Del Sol Vtec, fit perfect, put back in and seemed to work fine, then the Idle started Hunting at Operating Temp, so I removed the IACV, did the cleaning process like the post on here said to, Simple Green is awesome, worked really well, so much black gunk came out. So I ordered some Gaskets for it from Honda, same Del Sol. Well those two were no right, figure 8 one was a tad bit small and the Coolant port one was way too small. Off to the junkyard, I seriously must have taken apart 30 different cars yesterday and the last one I came to was a 1993 Prelude with the H22a1 motor. Bingo, the Gaskets are a direct fit. I don't like using Gasket maker or Silicone if I don't need to. I know there are direct replacements out there, I just had to go on a Mission to find and prove it can be done. So what I'm getting at is that you can use Honda OEM gaskets to refurbish your IACV and FITV. I will be recie ing my IACV gaskets tomorrow. When all is put back together I will post my results. Thanks for reading. I really Love this Website, has great info. Sorry if I rambled or brought up Old stuff...
