who knows the official specs on these two? i believe there may 10 hp difference , no? other than that, why is one better than the other?

my firend is considering a b16a cable swap instead of a hydro b/c of the cost. he drives 94 hb...

you need an adapter to put a cable tranny in a hydro car. also i dont think the valvetrain is as good on the 1g b16's and the throttle body is smaller (small differences)

 

i understand the adapter is pretty cheap. i suppose those differences account for the 10 hp? why wont a hydro trans bolt up?

 

a b series hydro tranny will bolt up but not any others. the 10hp difference is affected mainly by the intake manifold which has a 58mm bore while the 2gen has a 60mm and the compression is 10.2 while the 2gen has 10.4. There maybe also be some differences in the head and valve train but ive never heard of any.
