Default B16a combination

Looking to up the compression of a 1st gen B16a, would taking a honda factory head gasket, and only using the bottom layer, with a little spray on it to keep it sealed be the best route, considering i'm not taking the engine apart at this time. I'm wanting to add a set of ITR cams, and skunk2 manifold as well. Any comments or suggestions on this setup. Car has a chipped ecu (skunk2 program) also using a V-AFC for tuning. Thanks for the replies and insight.....
BTW... how reliable is the 1 layer headgasket method?

Go with CTR pistons. I really don't know how reliable a one layer head gasket is going to be, but I do know that the CTR pistons will raise the compression to approx. 11:1
