Default B16a block with LS internals. Question???????

Is it possible. The story goes like this.My friend has a Civic SI block and head.It was sprayed and leaned out.The number 1 piston shattered. So he has a block that is in good shaped.Number 1 cylinder is scored but not bad machine shop said i could do .25 over and be fine.So i was thinking to put Ls crank, modified rods to fit new ITR pistons,(which i have). And do all new bearing.i want a LS/vtec and this would simplify the vtec selonid and extra oil lines. But is it doable.I know the blocks are the same but there are some subtle differenceses.I did a search and only came up with the LS/vtec answers none that are deffinent on this.I would like to use this block due to the fact i wont have to change oil pump or water pump like on the LS/vtec.So let me know what you think. Thanks for your time.Peace.
