Default b16 valve replacement question

I am new to engine building but I have done a lot of research but I cannot find the answer to this question. I have a b16 bare block and I am going to be using stock b16 valves in the bare block but not the original ones that came in it. so my question is can I just take the valves, do a light hand lap and reassemble? keep in mind the valves I am putting in are used. Any input would be appreciated

I hand lapped in the valves that are in my head and they were new. Just check and make sure the surface isn't burn or messed up.

Yes,it is best to make sure the seal is good, since using different valves may result in leakage....

Gotcha, now as far as lapping, is there is certain way to do it. From what I have seen the best is to get the suction cup hand lap tool and go back and forth. What is the correct method of lapping? and how long for each valve.

Also, is there a specific lapping paste that is good for hondas or are they all pretty much the same.

The way I was taught was to use suction cup light pressure on valve and pull up and rotate the valve a quarter turn every so often. Pull the valve up and clean off valve grinding compound from valve and seat. You should see a light gray line all the way around the valve and seat.
