Default b16 trying to get the right bearings....

motor=b16a

Hey, I have been doing alot of searching on this site and I really can't find the answer I am looking for. I have been working on trying to put together a turbo kit and I was about to buy the rest of the stuff I needed for my boost setup but before I did I decided to do a compression test. The test showed 175-160-165-165. So I have came to the conclusion that I need some rings or my valve seals suck. Well I ordered new oem rings and I got new supertech valves springs and retainers. So now I am trying to make a decision on either going with the ACL standards or OEM. I do not know what my bearing clearnces are and I am afraid that if I go with the ACL they will not spec out. Should I just go with oem? or will i be alright with the ACL. after i put it all back together i plan on boosting it and making around 250whp so im trying to figure out what will be best for my setup.

any help is much appricated it. and I will say again I have searched and if you think this question has been answered 1,000 times please just forward me to another thread that I may have overlooked.

ACL's are the equivalent of the green OEM bearings if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, they're pretty much a "middle of the road" bearing, meaning that as long as your bearing needs aren't toward the extreme ends of the spectrum, they should work for you. You would need to what color bearings are in your block in order to determine if the ACl's will work for you. If most of your bearings are within the range of the ACL's, you can still probably save some money just getting the OEM bearings you need, and run ACL's for the rest. If you want the absolute best match for every bearing, then you'd probably want to go with OEM bearings and get the exact match for each one. Of course, the main issue with OEM bearings is cost, so if you can use the ACl's, I would personally do that since they cost $90-100 as opposed to $200+.
