Default B16 tranny leak

I am having a small leak comming from under my starter after everytime I drive. Its about 2 soda bottle cap-fulls on my floor and on my tranny. The top of my tranny right under the starter is wet and it runs down and somehow drips off the front sway bar and the bottom of the tranny. Then it slowly drips and pools on the floor.

I did notice a what looked like a missing tranny bolt, it seemed to be one of the bolts that holds the 2 halfs of the tranny case together. Could this be the problem? Or does anyone else have one open hole?

Also...I searched and foundout it could be the axel seal. So i ordered one from AAP, but how could from where the axel goes in reach up under the starter?

ANY info would help me out.

I have pics but Im on my laptop and dont have the software installed

Check your distributor O-ring. Check to see if there is a trail of oil coming from under there. An easy fix if thats it. Also check valve cover gasket for leaks.

most likely the o-ring, that is a pretty common 'leak' but also check cam seal (if you have a dohc motor) my b16 was making a little bit of a mess, and it was coming from there.
