Default b16 blueprint.....

B16a2 drag gen 3 kit. Awesome combo except i cant afford to build my motor in any way, so i decided to purchase a cometic headgasket that will supposedly lower my compression down to 9:1:1. Unfortunately, if i install that i would feel alot safer blueprinting my engine so i can know exactly wbat my compression would be with the headgasket and how much boost i can run without leaning out. I need serious help here guys, i need to blueprint my motor.

Are you sure it's supposed to drop the compression that much? I was under the impression that the B16A2 had somewhere in the neighborhood of 10.2 compression and a headgasket that can drop it all the way to 9.1? I'd have to see it to believe it, a headgasket would have to be ungodly thick to drop compression by that amount.

Also, you shouldn't have any problem running the Drag 3 kit out of the box. The stock B16A can probably handle 10 psi with good tuning, maybe a bit more. The most important thing when modifying a motor isn't always getting all the right pieces, it comes down to making the pieces you have work with each other. I suggest getting the turbo kit, putting it on the stock motor and then getting Hondata and having it tuned to perfection.

thanks alot, i totally agree with you but i disagree with the stock motor handling that much boost. A motor with high compression such as the b16 is not made to handle any boost at all, i ran it on 5 for a couple months and my number 3 cylinder dropped to 215 comp. that not horrible buts fatiguing, so i plan on buy a head gasket and then tuning it through a hack, i already have a vafc2 installed so no sense in me buying hondata.
