Default b16 block, trade question

So i'm trying to get rid of some turbo parts and some guy on another forum said he'd trade me a set of dsm blue top injectors which i had priced at $110 for a b16 block and crank. does that sound at all fair?

second question, if i were to accept such a trade, is a b16 better for a 200+ whp N/A build or would i be better off finding a b18 to start with?

I don't know what they go for now, but when I was using DSM blue top 450's, they were around $50 used for a set of four. All things being equal, a B18 block will produce more power than a B16A block, due to higher displacement.

which is exactly why i was going to start with a b18. can the 16 block be bored out to 1.8, or eve 2 liters?

the b16 does have stroker kits that can increase it to 1.8L but depending on how much you wanna spend just getting a b18 block would be cheaper.

oh b16 block for dsm 450's not an even trade at all. Your crank alone could go for at least $100.

hah i fail with words today. i meant I had the injectors and this guy wanted to trade for the block.

here is a better way to word the question. would trading the guy for the block, then stroking it to 1.8L be cheaper than buying a b18 later on?

450's fir a b16 block and crank? I would say its a good trade. It wouldn't be cheaper than buying a 1.8L. Eagle stroker kits are like 2g's and if you wanted to just get sleeves it'll still be around $1,000 for the sleeves and installation. But if you are going to sleeve anyways, hey why not. Also don't forget, if you just sleeve and not get a stroker kit, your torque numbers won't change much.

Guys guys guys...

Am I the only one that see's what's going on here?

There is no way this dude is giving you a legit block and crank for a set of used injectors... lol

There has to be something shady with that, I don't know what, but I can almost guarantee you...

well that's true, you'd better check to see if he's maybe spun a rod bearing or has cracked sleeves, or a warped block.

thats what i thought too, rip off block. but i've talked to the guy a bit and he seems cool. goes to school with a buddy of mine so i can always have him check out the block before i decide. he just has no cash and wanted the injectors. i might take it anyway, then sell it and use the extra moola for an 1.8. i'll check it out. Thanks for the comments guys!
