Default b-pipe length difference on b16a and b18c

i currently have a stock 2000 si header on my 1st gen b16, but i remember when i put it on, i had to shove the rest of the exhaust back a couple of inches to get it to fit. well i have a friend that wants to sell his dc 4-2-1 gsr header. i went to check it out and i see immediately that the b-pipe is shorter, but i didnt have a b16 header to compare it to, so basically im just wondering how much longer the b-pipe on b16 header is than the b18c.

You mean a-pipe.

The a-pipe on the b18c header is a few inches shorter than the b16a/b18b/itr header.
fora b16a you shouldreally be using a b16a header though.

i think youre a little confused

the a-pipe on b18a/b/c is longer than b16s because of the longer block, the b-pipe on b16s is longer than b18c(not sure about b18a/b) but i dont know why.

Actually, you are alittle confused. The part you have labeled A is the exhaust
manifold. THe part labeled B is the A pipe. The B pipe is the pipe between the
cat and the rear muffler section.

Here is the correct diagram:
