Axle Squeek
So I installed a new axle into my sister's 1986 Honda Accord EX-i VERY straight forward as I've done it many times and it's just an axle, couple bolts and your done. Anyways. After I installed everything and went for a drive, the car keeps making a "squeak" sound. it pulses like squeek squeek squeek with the speed you are going. the faster the speed. the louder and faster it gets. oh, obvious there. I musta pushed the rotor plate in. Checked it... perfectly fine(cause I remember specifically avoiding bending it) So I check around the new axle and nothing is rubbing... I've checked everythnig I touched and cna't figure it out.. It's a Fenco reman axle.. I am starting to wonder if the axle itself is bad or something... I am gonig to warranty it and replace it with another one to give it a try. But if anyone has any other ideas that'd be great. BTW it's passenger axle.
Found out what it was.. one of the metal clamps on the inner axle by the diff taht held the boot on was hitting the tranny case till it broke off one day and the noise stopped. luckily the boot didn't slide off. I didn't have a clampe tc, so I jsut repalced it with a whoel new axle, btu prior to it I hammered the clamp thing downa bit where it buldeged out alot and now it doesn't hit. thanks for the help tho.
