I replaced my OEM axle with an autozone axle 3 weeks ago after tearing a boot. Last week I noticed the new axle was squeaking at a full left turn only.

So today I replaced the 2nd axle under warranty and I still get the same squeak at full left turns. It's not as bad as the last one but it's still there. Any suggestions?!

After I swapped my b16 the same exact thing would happen on left turns only but could never fix it... sometimes it wouldn't squeak then other times it would squeak pretty loud but nothing bad ever happened. It still drove well and never had problems.

same deal here... it's not all the time and the axle itself doesn't grind or jump in any way...

anything look worning in the suspension? it may sound stupid, but check to see your splash guard for the brakes isn't too close to the rotor.

i've checked the dust shield too... and while it is close.. it doesn't make contact any longer but i'll tripple check that tomorrow at full lock.


Also... everything in the front suspension is mint or new.

it also possible that the autozone axle is messed up. sometimes it takes a couple times to get a good one.

I think its your left lower control arm. The bushings are or may be worn out. That's what happened to mines.

nah, it's def. coming from the c.v. shaft...


I'm guessing it's the cheap *** re-man. axles they sell.. but still open to other possibilities to fix this besides replacing it over and over..

Is your axle squeeking or does it click when turning?

I've never heard of an axle actually squeaking, sounds more like a bushing or wheel bearing perhaps. But if it's clicking then you've gotten a bad one... Once I went through 4 axles before I got a good one, that was highly irritating to say the least...

my problem is that my right shaft doesnt seat in the tranny well anymore. i guess the only fix is to upgrade to an lsd or get a gsr tranny. it makes a kind or weeeeering noise almost like the geers are crying.
but yah. just save your self the hastle and get a shaft from a honda dealer. autozone shafter are chop jobs. honda puts 100% new parts on there shafts. when maskes me wonder how they can be called rebuilt.

Also... I suppose you're right.. I'll probably try one more autozone axle and if that doesn't fix the problem i'll buy an OEM Honda one.

there should be a warranty on them... One thing I've discovered though is that a lifetime warranty doesn't cover the cost of your time, frustration or strandings. If you have the $, go ahead and pony up for a honda rebuilt/raxle axle. After the last round of crap axles I went through I was down to 30 minutes from tire up to tire down...

There is the autozone lifetime warranty so i can replace them whenever.. but yeah.. it is the time thing and the pure annoyance of having to keep replacing them.

I have it down to 48 minutes Compaired to the 5 hour hassle of replacing the first one with seized hub/axle splines

Ordered mine through them a couple years ago. They showed up and were sooooo nice looking, I didn't wanna put 'em in.
I was told by them that they should hold up to pretty much any kind of REASONABLE power I want to throw at 'em. I told them I was shooting for about 350-400 WHP and they made some axles for me. Good stuff.

I'd assume a cost of ~300 per pair based on their hybrid pricing...
