Default Axle removal...

Hey people. Ive tried everything: prying, pushing in and pulling out, just pulling and NOTHING will get this axle out. I'm replacing the tranny on my d16y7. Ive read the tutorial on H-T and the Haynes manual. Any other tricks? Could it have something to do with busted internals on the tranny? It still ran and drove before I started though. Thanks

I pin a pry bar in between the axle casing and the tranny and give it a good tug......i don't know anything else besides that......should come out eventually

good luck

Yup, pry that sucka out. Just be careful, I damn near knocked myself out last weekend when the axle came loose and I bashed myself in the forehead with the crowbar. LOL, I saw stars. on me.

Hey,

I removed an axle on a b-series swapped civic last weekend.

Couldn't get the axle past the seal to pry; applied a pickle fork to the back side of the CV joint and hit it with a hammer. This solved the problem.

Will have to re-do the job this weekend (I was sold the wrong alternator ). Have greased the splines of the axle and hope that this will make the job a little easier this time.
