ATI race damper charging issues?
I am looking to get a ati damper for my b-series. I want to know if I drive my car on the street will I have issues with the alternator? reason why I dont get the street version is cause i dont have ac or ps and I rather not have that empty slot for ac there. The only thing I have is the 2 factory door speakers and a radio. Its a ek hatch it that helps. I have looked and got mixed reviews so hopefully I can get some straight answers here.
If the damper is underdriven its by a very small amount. Shouldn't have any issues with charging whatsoever. Great investment for a built motor and/or one that will see extended high rpm use.
from experience You can get the street version. I'd advice that actually. regardless if you have a the AC/PS or not. The race pulley "can" drop voltage. It was a small amount though. Saw it do it on a friends car. He went to the street pulley and problem solved. I know some that have the race pulley they have a higher alternator.
