Assitance Needed: 1990 B16A3 "Missing Data Link Connector"
So I have a 1990 DX Hatchback with a B16a3 swap. I failed my ref inspection today because:
1) Missing data link connector
2) PCV Hose made of wrong material - I have a clear braided rubber hose, it needs to be fuel line or something like that
3) Wrong purge solenoid - I need the 95 Del Sol purge solenoid, idk what purge solenoid I have, it attaches to the firewall like the DX but its just a single solenoid where the DX one had all this extra junk attached to it, the new one needs to mount to the back of the intake manifold though
4) Fan switch is inline with upper radiator hose - it needs to be in the thermostat housing
I need to know how the data link connector is wired in. I presume that one goes to D7, one is a power source and the other is ground, but which wire where? Also, I imagine I don't already have a fused power source for that, am I able to branch off another power source, the fan maybe? Nothing will ever be plugged into this so its not like it even matters but I don't want to fail again because my redundant connector isn't functioning. Any help is appreciated, as well as info on where i can get one of those connectors.
Thanks

what state and standard is your test done to? afaik there was no data link connector until 1996 when obd 2 became standard. I could be wrong, but I am not familiar at all despite having worked on Hondas for 20 years and currently owning a CRX.
I am in California. Im not sure the standard, they just say it needs to be just like the Del Sol which is somewhat open to their interpretation. I'm pretty sure the Del Sol had power steering which I don't, it also probably isn't going to effect the engine performance, but neither is the lack of that connector. The guy pulled out a blank piece of paper and just started writing stuff about my car, there is no checklist or anything, there should be though. In the Del Sol the data link is the 3 pin connector next to the 2 pin SRS connector that you jump to get the codes through the flashing check engine light. All the pictures I've seen of it it looks pretty similar to the 2 pin just wider. I didn't know the OBD1 cars had a data link until today either, after googling a bit about it I learned its part of some proprietary Honda code reader or software suite or something called HIM. There is also an adapter that apparently allows some OBD2 scan tools to use it.

On a Del Sol:
- Lt Blu wire from ECM terminal no. D7 - Data Input/Output
- Wht/Red wire from under-dash Fuse No. 3 - hot at all times; power (+) - (Another power source that is always hot will work too.)
- '93 Del Sol - Blk/Red wire to ground (-) G101 / '94 Del Sol - Grn/Wht wire to ECM sensor ground (-) at D22. (Any chassis ground will work too.)
You'll probably have to go to a salvage yard and just snip a 3P DLC connector off practically any older Honda.

Honda's OBD1 (and 2) scanner...
We were an independent Honda and Japanese specialist shop. We only managed to get one because a customer found it on the side of the road. Some dumb *** tech left it on the car during a test drive :D.
