Default ARP Rod bolts, LS/VTEC

Two friends of mine have told me 2 different things concerning the installation of ARP rod bolts into my stock ls/vtec (GSR head). It's only being revved out to 7500 rpms at the moment, but I'd like to be able to safely rev higher (probably 8200-8500). I'm told by one friend that I can simply pull the pan, remove the stock rods bolts 1 at a time, and replace with the ARP. Another friend is telling me I'll have to measure the bearing clearances w/the ARP and install new bearings accordingly. The first friend has built quite a few successful ls/vtecs, but the second friend has put some doubt in my mind of the simplicity of the change. Honda-tech's verdict?

well arp says you need to have the big end of the rod re-sized when you install there rod bolts reason is it will egg shape the big end of the rod when you torque the bolts down to spec

The correct way, with out a doubt is to resize the rods after installing ARP bolts. But many people have done it without resizing without catastrophic results.
But the whole ls rod bolt thing is little overdone anyway, they are not that bad.The rods themselves are not that strong.Put them next to a gsr rod and you will see what I mean.
