can you use arp bolts over and over or not?

 

Like any bolt for the head, they are supposed to strech when torqued properly. I would say yes for stock, no for modified engine.

 

i thought the entire purpose of using arp bolts was that they resist stretch more so than a stock counterpart, therefore making it fine to use over and over...

i bought new B16 stock honda headbolts b/c arp said they wouldn't have any avaliable in the US, and wouldn't produce anymore for about 3-4 months, but, if i take those out, i'll buy arp, new bolts again, even though a local honda technician reuses headbolts "...all the time..."

 

I have reused Honda Head Bolts and Main Girdle Bolts without ever having a failure...these are in 12.5:1 8600RPM race motors. I throw them away when the block is used up...three to four rebuilds.

i know someone who has re-used them once without trouble.
