Ariel Atom Tranimssion?
So the Ariel atom uses a Honda 2.0 VTEC motor. Very cool. But if you look closely at the pictures it looks like the exhaust is coming out the same side as the half shafts which seems the opposite on a Honda factory car (exhuast comes out toward the front of the car and the halfshafts are on the back side of the engine/tranny). Does anyone know what transmission they are using, or what trick they pulled here?
Here is a good rear shot for anyone who isn't familiar with the Atom.

OK, thanks. Looks like those are in newer Integras, but how did they get the thing drive the opposite direction? The engine/transis is facing the opposite direct as in the factory cars.
Is it possible to flip the ring gear in the differential? Sorry, but the last Honda I worked on was a 91 CRX Si...

Should we help him out? Or is it too stupid of a question?
Why do you need to know so bad anyway, you obviously dont own a new RSX or Civic, and Id bet money that you dont have an Atom either?

Well, it wasn't a STUPID question but my assumptions were wrong. I didn't realize Honda changed the orientation of the engines since the last time I owned one. I have been a BMW/Benz guy for the last ten years.
I figured out the answer once I realized what cars the K engines were in and found a picture of an engine bay.
And since you showed great powers of induction I will confirm your suspicions: I do not own an Ariel, nor an RSX and I am NOT in the market for one. I am designing a chassis and investigating engine combinations. The Ariel showed an interesting solution to a problem I am trying to solve. Thanks for your help, I hope I can return the favor some time..
