Default Arias pistons or JE

im looking to drop in some standard bore pistons in my GSR motor with the goal of a compression of 11.6-12.0 with stock head gasket. I was originally gonna go with JDM ITR pistons because i was told i would get a 11.6 compression but a professional builder told me that i would not, and that im better off paying a little more money and get a forged high compression piston because i will know what compression im getting and it will much stronger than the JDM ITRs so thats what i will do. So now im looking at Arias pistons or JE and intrested in know which is the better to go with as far as power and reliability. Also will these be good to run on my stock GSR rods or should i get eagle rods?

CP pistons are the most accurate pistons that I have personally used. I have never heard any bad things about them either.

This is their website. Try to find an application you want on there. I bought mine from Earl on this site. Hit him up with a PM when you find what you want. Good luck with your build.

accoroing to the C-Speed calculater which may or may not be correct, my options are:

CTR Pistons and OEM Head gasket @ 12.0 compression
JDM ITR Pistons + Mugen head gasket @ 11.6 compression

Or I can spend a couple hundred bucks and get fordge JE high compression pistons which may be a waste of money cause I dont plan to increase my redline.

So basically between those choices, I want which ever one i can drop in my motor on my GSR rods with no modifications required, and will run efficiently with for daily driving and still make good power.

I have also decided that since im not changing the red line that im just gonna go ahead and run with CTR cams

Running that high of a compression I would recommend forged internals for the new stress you would be putting on the engine. You should really do some headwork as well to maximize the efficiency of the engine.

how high do you think i should go before going fordge?. I mean I will be happy with 11.6+. I got enough fuel tuning mods with exception of bigger injectors and fuel pump. as far as head work i plan on port matching the intake ports and exhaust ports and if i have the money full port and polish with the cams and Skunk IM.

my opinion is that you go with arias nothing against cp je or any other piston company but the fact of the matter is that arias makes a superior quality piston.i understand that every one has prefferences but i see pistons all day long and not just arias but the difference is that arias forgings are right on the money everytime. on the other hand with other companies all four pistons are required when machining the block because we have to match the clearence to every bore, with arias we dont even need a sample piston to measure for clearence purposes. Also the staff at arias are great. that even includes you tom . good luck with your build up.
