Default Apexi Rev/Speed Meter

I just got an Apexi Rev/Speed Meter for my 98 GSR and it says it calculates 1/4 mile time.
My question is, does anyone know how accurate its reading is??
The Apexi people told me it should be very good, since it's wired directly into the speed and rpm wires (which it also reads those better than the gauge cluster)
Anyway, I've never taken my car to a real track so i have nothing to compare it too, but i'm gonna try it out tonight when it cools down. I'll let you know my new times
Any info on it would really help.

in about an hour and a half i'm gonna go out and make a run with my friend video taping from inside. i'll have it up for you guys

so does anybody know??
we ran my car tonight, but realized that it might be counting wheel spin as distance.
so IT says i ran a 14.85 but we think it was more like 14.9-15.0
will try to get video up tomorrow

ANY input???

It doesnt start based on RPM, if it did it would always start because the engine is always rotating drrr.

It starts based on input from the G-Sensor. I am going to try mine out side by side at a track once I get my swap and time to go to the track. SCC did a review a while back on the RSM and it was within 1-3 HP with the Power Loss function, so its probably the most accurate, at least better than the "G-Tech".

As long it's consistant within the unit it would make a good tuning tool. Not sure how accurate it is vs the track.

The timing starts when your wheel starts moving. And yes...it does count wheelspin as distance, and since it calculates using distance traveled by your wheel and not the road, spinning the tires would make you get better times. Hypothetically, you could burnout a quarter mile.
