Default Any one ever have problems with jun cams on a h22

Put my cams in with jun springs, rev valves, some titanium retainers and 370cc injectors on my port and polished head but the car will not idle. The car runs so bad that I am debating that this problem is because it needs to be tuned. Any one ever had this experiance or know what to do?

Jun cams even say that the stock idle will be effected because it is more of an agressive cam ( im think of the higher stages ) - You need hondata and tune.

That is what I am thinking that it needs to be tuned. I even have engine manigment but I did not want to take a car that has something wrong with it to get tuned just to find out at the dyno that it is more then tuning it needs. Thanks for the input though. By the way I believe the h22 jun cams are stage 3s. VTECZONE did your friend just instal the cams or did he get it tuned and did he have any isues at first.

If your valve clearances are too tight, the engine will have a hard time keeping idle. Re-check the clearances.

They were adjusted about 2 months ago so I dont think they were to tight. This head was on another car and it ran ok but now it is just bad it wont stay on.

I am going to have them re adjusted but what do you degree the cams to. The jun h22 cams I was told is actualy equal to a stage 3.

I sprayed 140 shot on my untuned Type-R. man it was sooo fast and then i heard a kaboom and my rod let go. I still don't know why it happened. I am thinking it was my Jun stage 3 cams I had. They were the problem that my rod let go.

I have run into a similar problem when i installed a fully prepped (port/polish/welded chambers and milled .015) with my JUN cams. Idle was lopey and a bit unstable. Before installing this prepped cylinder head, the stock unmodified head and JUN cams gave a good, solid unproblematic idle. With this new cylinder head, i managed to get idle working well with my hondata

Idle now is nice and stable. Love the sound of it now.

If you have the chance to degree in your cams, that would be great. I did not have the opportunity since my mechanic was on a suicide schedule (lots of work) and decided to just set the the camsprockets at 0,0 for the moment.

Hope that helps you a bit.

I have good news and bad news that I found out, there was a posibility that my head was cracked but it turns out its fine and I had 3 bent valves after puting new ones in about 5 months ago. Also turns out the block the head was on before may have the pistons put in wrong that is what is causing my valves to bend. Sucks cause I put a stock head on that block and bent those valves also so thats 2 heads with bent valves that I need to fix.
