Default Another swap woe... *cry*

Hey guys, first, I just wanna thank the people who gave advice and tips on my other problems, it helped alot.

Anyway, we finally took it for a drive around and we noticed that however much throttle you give it, whether it be pedal to the metal or slight gas, it will only accelerate at the same rate... Whats up?

I believe we are only pulling 2 codes(recheck tommorrow), the knock sensor and the crank fluctuation sensor. Do you think one or both sensors would cause this?

Getting a skunk2 P28 later this week, so it'll get rid of those 2 sensors....
..but thats later...

Anyway, help?
Thanks much!

I missed the thread about your other problems, but if your base timing is WAY off (like 0 BTDC), your car will be sluggish like crazy and won't be able to exceed 3000 RPM.

The car exceeds 3000 RPM no problem. Its just the acceleration rate; it is constant regardless of how much gas you give it. 25% throttle....50%...100% ...doesn't matter...

Although, stupidly, I did not check my base timing but that will be done today...was stock 16 or 18 BTDC?

Thanks!

Timing could definitely cause a problem so it's worth checking. I know I tried just for the hell of it the OBD II ecu on the swap I just did. It did kick out codes for those sensors which were bypassed but the car still ran fine all the way up to redline and vtec worked also. It doesn't sound like it is only an ecu problem. I have the jdm B16 ecu and the skunk harness installed on the guys car now and there are no codes. I would double check all of the wiring to the engine harness.

B18C1 engine? Stock timing is 16 +/- 2 deg BTDC.

if the sensors are bad that cause poor accel.alot of malfunctions in the ignition system are sensor related

I know this sounds elementary and stupid but did you make sure you had the throttle positioning sensor and cables all hooked up right?

All the other sensors and wiring jobs are plugged and correct. The distributor was off a 94 LS and we wired it up to my harness no problem except the tach wire which we wired to a diagnostic plug by the master cylinder since the harness did not have that wire..

BTW...timing is indeed off so we're fixing it today and hope that it solves the problem
