Another solution to idle problems

My problem started when I cleaned my TB. I just removed my CAI and left the TB in place, so nothing was disturbed. Afterwards, my idle would never go below 15k and would sometimes go as high as 3k.
So after doing the search thing. Doing the IACV and FITV checks and such My problem was still there.
I did have a few codes. One was my o2 sensor which I knew was bad cause I clipped my secondary on a speed bump. FYI, I put a universal cat in and my 2 options at the time were have the o2 sensor on a downward angle and risk hitting it, which I did. Or put it at an upward angle and have it interfere with my shift linkages.
The other codes were KS and VTEC pressure switch. These 2 I dont believe affected the idle issue. On my drive home I lost VTEC and checked the codes when I got home. Turned out to be loose wires. No biggie. But the idle issue was there long before that.
So after staring under my hood 30 min. and smokin dube, I got to thinkin. Maybe the butterfly is'nt closing all the way. So I checked my cable and it had plenty of play.
What I did was give the return spring on the TB 1 full turn to add more pre-load. This way I can be sure the butterfly is closing. It actually worked!! Also, the gas pedel will be stiffer, which I like. Before, the pedel had a kind vague feeling. Now, I find it much easier to get precise pressure.
To do this, dis-connect the throttle cable from the TB. Next, loosen the 10mm nut holding the cable guide/rocker(the part the cable attaches to on the TB), and remove the nut and cable guide/rocker. Now give the spring 1 turn to tighten it up and put the cable guide/rocker back on and re install the nut. You should notice that it will be a lot stiffer to open by hand.
I hope these directions are clear. I am writing this a week after the fact and am relying on memory...and I was high when I did it!!
Heres a pic that I hope will help

haha, ummmm... sorry to bring it back from the dead. but im having idle problems so i ran across this in a search.
wondering why nobody replied to it, or ever even tried it.
is it cuz the guy was high when he did it?

Ive done this as well long ago just for the stiffer pedal. Probably about 2-3 years before his post even. His Post is spot on though. It's easy, it works as he describes, and if for some reason there's a slight gap between the TB walls and the butterfly this "may" add enough pressure to "slightly bend" the butterfly into and airtight position.
