Default Another coilover question!

K, so before I buy any coilovers, I've been talking to 2 people... one of them told me that I can install them straight on to my Civic, nothing else needed!

Another, told me that I have to buy aftermarket shocks to install them with also!?

Anybody know which guy is right? Is there anything else that I need for the coilovers?

it is recommended to install aftermarket shocks, you may just bounce all over the place. Also, if your gonna drop below 1.5-2" your def. gonna have to get new shocks. Then to add to that, if your gonna drop a decent amount your gonna want to get a camber kit too.

your stocks shocks will wear out quicker depending on how much the car is being lowered. Aftermarket shock have different travel than stock one so they wont wear as quick. Hope that helps

If you are buying full coilovers (for example: JIC or Tein), then you do not need to buy shocks as they are built in to the unit. If you are buying sleeve coilovers (for example: Ground Control or Skunk2), then it's recommended that you upgrade the shocks as the shock assembly isn't a part of the coilover assembly and the stock shocks are usually not very well suited to them.

Well, these are ghetto but this is something that I was looking at getting... for now anyways... I just want to be able to control the amount of drop on my ride, but I don't want to pay a ton of money for it until my car is looking the way I want it to, then I'll put out some money for a nice, more trustable, kit...
