Alternator wiring
No luck searching, so I'm trying here.
Is there anyway to run the Honda alternators without the factory ECU? I'm working one two cars. One is a 1991 CRX that will have dual carbs. I want to remove all the EFI wiring and the ECU. Its a race car, so I don't need any ECU functions. If I hook the output wire from the alt to the fuse box, will the alt charge the battery, or will I have to activate the alternator somehow with one of the other wires?
The second car is the same setup but will be running Electromotive EFI.
Thanks

yes you can run the altinator without the ecu, just hook up the power wire from the altinator 4 wire plug, which should be the black/yellow to a switch for power so you can turn it on and off from a the battery source so it will not drian the battery. Im still at home right now but i will be heading to the shop and i will verify the color of the wire jsut incase.
Just to let you know I double checked and I was right on the wire color......have fun with the duel carbs.....we did that setup back in 2000 with NOS and it ran great. 11.00@121 with only 190whp to the wheel on a stock spec gsr and then we put 120 shot direct on top.
