alternator question

hey ive gotta get an alternator for my 86 crx. but ive got a friend thats parting out an 88 civic dx. could i use the alternator off that for mine? like would it work?

Just look at the two and see if they have the same mounting brackets, everything else can be rewired. It really depends on what engine you have in the CRX also.
