Default Clock Spring / Cable Reel?

Would a bad clock spring cause the instrument panel and taillight fuse to blow when turning?

no. the cable reel (clock spring) works with the srs system. not the lights. thats from a seperate harness.

Any idea what would cause this? The fuse is fine with the taillights off and I can drive straight with the lights on with no problem.... As soon as I turn the fuse pops.

the clock spring is for the horn. does the horn still work after the fuse blows?

if not then maybe, but it could still be in wiresand most probably is

if it does then its not related to the clock spring and the next most probable thing is the wiring in the column.

eitherway you have to pull the column cover off, so that wher eI would start and inspect the wires very carfully. look for any that are pulled tight

der what was thinking it was late lol.

sorry what vehicle is this on....because they do have a clock spring on older vehicles w/o airbags. Im not sure what the proper term for it is though.

Its been awhile since I have been in a honda column though and maybe thats just a gm thing ( the little green round disc that fits around the steering shaft. Seems like Im always taking steering wheels off those things for somereason or another.

Again though its probably the wiring harness that comes from the multi switch getting pinched or its rubbed through somewhere
