Default alternator light glow

Hi need some help yet again. When the car is at idle the alternator/battery warning light is off, when you turn the ignition to one the light comes on and goes out as soon as the car is started.....all fine...now the problem...as you rev the engine, standing still and while driving the light glows brighter and brighter.

Can any one help with a solution and what the problem might be

Thanks

if the battery is in good shape, the alternator is probably on the way out...nothing you can do exept change it...if its still charging,it could last a while like that or maybe not,it depends how lucky you are.

Measure voltage at your alternator connections while you rev the engine. It should stay around 14v or 14.5v; I'm guessing your voltage regulator is messed up.

Thanks so far. Did measure the voltage and it charge only to around 13.78 volts. Fitted a new voltage regulater and still charges from 13.78 to 13.84 volts going up and down while the engine is running.

By the way even if I rev the engine it never gets to 14 or 15 volts...The electrical guys checked the alternater and said that charging aroun 13 volts are fine...and I beg to differ, it must to my knowledge charge between 14 and 15 volts.
