Alternator / Electrical Problems...
A few nights ago, me and my buddy were out playing with my Prelude... I ran his h22 Integra and as we were slowing down, my headlights (HID's) go off.. I looked down and noticed that my radio had turned off, but my dash lights were about 5 times brighter than normal. I have a HKS turbo timer and normally run it with the voltage showing, so I looked over and the high voltage warning was going off and it was pegged @ 18 volts!
I slowed down and found a place to pull off and when the RPMs got lower, the voltage went back to normal, my headlights came back on, radio came back on, and the dash lights went back to normal.
The voltage is now reading about 11.5 - 11.8 volts (used to be about 13v moving) but the voltage warning light on the gauge cluster is staying on, as well as the brake light? I'm glad the HIDs have voltage protection, because I just installed them two days ago!
Has anything like this ever happened to anyone before, and does anyone know why the voltage and brake warning lights are now staying on? Other than that, the car runs fine! Thanks!!!
