Default Alternative fuels for all-motor applications

I tried doing a search but I couldn't come up with much.

A friend of mine is building an all motor street motor, it won't be driven more then once a week around the shop or to the street races. Mileage is not of importance, and it will never see pump-gas ever. Also the previous motor was getting torn down for full inspection every 300 miles, with retainers inspection, and bearing changes every 500 miles. so this is almost a race motor in a street car.

My question. Are there people running Methanol on all-motor applications? What are the advantages/disadvantages of doing something like this? What compression can be had? What has to change concerning pumps, injectors, engine management?

The motor will most likely be a 2.1L 95mm stroke * 85 or 86mm bore. Custom ITB's are being used. I think they are 48mm, they are ready to go, and so is the head, just waiting for the block to come back from GE with a 1" deckplate.

So what options are there? Will methanol be worth it? What power can be had? What will be different going from gas to an alcohol motor?? Are there any other gases besides methanol?

goto vpracing fuels ... depending on compression ratio you use C12, C14, C16 ... it tells you up to 14:1 compr use C12, 15:1 and over C14 .. boosted cars C16 etc ...

cam2 racing fuel is another company ... some Sunoco sells Cam2.

Well I know about gasoline..That's what the car runs now. But I'm talking about alcohol!
