Default All of the problems are finally making sense...

Well, I've made 3 different problems I've had lately invololving my engine. They were: exhaust backfiring (becuase of runnign too rich I think), CEL 91 and 92 (fuel tank pressure), and bogging. My car could also chirp 2nd easily before my oil change and now I can't chirp 2nd (not that I like to do that)And VTEC engagement is LOTS LESS noticeable. Could all these problems be related to too much oil? Here's what happened. I just now happened to realize to check my oil level (didn't think of it becuase I just had an oil change from Honda). Well....I looked at my oil level, and it's AT LEAST 2 inches over the top fill line. They put too much ******* oil in my car Do you think any of my problems could of been caused by too much oil? Thanks alot in advance.

I also did some searching in the archives on "too much oil?" and found out that 1-2 cm's over is ok. 1 inch is WAY too much (like 1 qt, too much) so that makes me really worried that mine is 2 inches over. I also found out that I could of blow some seals. I don't think i'm there yet, since Ihaven't noticed any black smoke.

Just drain out the extra oil. Personally, mine is about 1 cm over the fill line but I'm too lazy to drain it. Too much oil can give the crank an extra workout, because it has to whip through more oil.... Also the oil can froth.

yes, defenitly drain out extra oil. 2 in. over is about 2 1/2 qts. that could seriously cause engine to malfuction.

Just finished draining my oil to just under the top line mark. Going to reset the ecu and see if it throws the same codes. Then I'll take it out and see if things have changed. Oh yeah, Honda did my oil change I've had no problems in the past, but I think they messed up this time. oh well, mistakes happen.

You let the dealer touch your car?

Well, maybe you hava waranty... Personally I prefer the piece of mind, that I personally fucked something up. And all I have to do is reverse my mojo...

Instead of tracking down what some 16yr old minimum wage oil change guy boned up...

Yeah, it's running pretty good now. I actually am going to change my oil by myslef in the future since I know how to do everything now. (I had to jack my car up and undo the 17mm bolt to drain it-very messy lol.) so next time I need an oil change, I knowI can do it. Plus, I've already replaced my oil filter so I know how to do that. The only thing i've had the dealer do to my car is my exhaust manifold replacement and this oil change. But yeah, it's runnig pretty good now.

Just top the oil off with the car on the ground. I dunno how many people I've seen top it off with the front end 2 feet off the ground only to drop it and realize it has way too much oil when the car is level or slightly lower in the front...as in normal ride height.
