They should all be interchangable. The posts and terminals might not be in the exact spots, but they are there.

Manual and Automatic starters are the same...When I did the auto to 5-speed swap on my GS I used the starter that was in the automatic tranny, as the Helms manual didn't say there was a transmission specific starter. Not sure on b16-b17-b18 starter interchangeability though....

I think the jdm b16a's have a different flywheel tooth count. I think the starters are different. I could be wrong.

actually, some starters that fit the early cable tranny wont fit the later hydraulic.

cheetah,

When you say, "actually, some starters that fit the early cable tranny wont fit the later hydraulic," you mean they physically will not bolt up, right. It is not that the teeth counts are different because when someone purchases a flywheel, which I already have done, he/she purchases a "B series flywheel." I will be using a cable tranny, more than likely a y1, so I can just simply use a 90-93 integra starter, which should be easy to find, and everything will be peachy keen. Hopefully a tranny I buy will come with a starter though and I will not have to worry. Thanks guys for answering such a simple question. I have already messed up once and purchased the wrong clutch disc. There is just so many little things to know and I do not want to mess up again.
