i have a jap import honda civic vti hatchback and i wanted to know the best airfilter to get for sound but most importantly peformance.

 

you will see the most power gains from a cold air intake. however, if you're looking to only replace the filter, take off the stock airbox and retrofit a K&N cone filter. they make the best filters available.

thanks for the advice although iv'e heard that K&N dont give a good power increase i was was thinking more AEM intake whats your verdict

 

My buddy that's a mechanic went last weekend to a performance workshop. At the workshop they tested different brands of intakes and what not. At the end, AEM and AirRaid cold air intakes were the two that added the most HP. K&N I guess, actually lowered HP. Don't know all the variables and what not, but I thought it was interesting.

 

Are you asking about just the air filter or a whole intake system? K&N makes filters. AEM makes a cold air intake system that comes with a K&N filter.

 

cheers for that going to have a little shop around i heard ITG are good so i borrowed my mates good sound but wouldnt mind AEM.

 

in the uk it all gets called a filter, i have a cold air intake when on h-t, but an expensive air filter if i'm talking to my uk mates......bit mad, but thats how it is. what he wants is an intake system.

oh, and its not a vti(which would be a 1.5 if it wa a jap one), but an sir......but hedont beleive me
