Default AFR Tuning

Ok, so I just got the new Innovative Wideband controller and need to set my AFR. What are most of you using as a good AFR which provides the best power across the RPM range?

Thanks!

All our dyno work has shown max safe power to be around 12.5. We've run stuff in the 13's but the plugs started to show detonation. You don't really start to lose power until you get into the low 11's/hi 10's. We typically shoot for 11.8-12.3 to give a little room for atmospheric changes.

What is your combo?

Do you aim for constant AFR across the band or at a progessing rate as RPM increase?

I only aim for 11-12 at max load. Idle can go as high as 16 without problems then decrease as load goes up. If you are tuning with the map sensor you need to figure out where your engine needs enrichment and make the enrichment table kick in when vacuummdrops more than two inches or so past normal unloaded vacuum.

B16a/Y1 w/JE SRP 10:5.1 pistons, eagle rods, 70mm throttle port matched to DPR p/p type r mani, type r valves and cams in an Alaniz Technologies p/p head into an AnR 4-1 equal lenght header w/2.5 exhaust. Running Hondata stage 4b. Installing Skunk2 Stage 1 cams next weekend.

Zeke,

You seem to know your stuff on tuning and didn't know you alter AFR depending on load. I was going to shoot for a constant AFR across the RPM range but maybe this is wrong????

Can you give me some tips on tuning or a link to help on the 'net?

Thanks!
Raul
