Default aem ems boost controller option?

i am interested in aem ems or neptuns ems. i have noticed a lot of people talk about a gm solenoid with the aem and it has something to do with a e-boost controller. can someone maybe explain more in depth of what is needed with that and how it works. and is that available with neptune? thankyou for any replies

the option of using an 3 bar map sensor is available with both sensors, but you will need to supply it, it is necessary if you want to boost above 12 psi
