Default advantages/disadvantages of cable linkage

Hello, I just got my 01 prelude 5spd and I'm wondering what the disadvantages of having a cable linkage are compared to a hydro? I've driven my brother's integra, and although it's not as smooth going from gear to gear, it also feels a lot more durable. I've done a search and read that cable linkages are meant to be smoother, but also there is less feedback, however I couldn't find any more in-depth info on the topic. Thanks a lot.

When you say "hydro" you are probably referring to the clutch, older civics and integras had cable clutches, newer ones have a hydraulic clutch. Integras and civics have a solid rod linkage, as oposed to the preludes cable shifter. I dont think there are really many disadvantages to cable shifting, except for a little vagueness in the shifter.
