Cam timing or Ignition.

Unortho crank pully or cam "GEARS"?

Crank pullies are not adjustable.

What he said. If you're talking about the UR underdrive crank pulley, you're talking about ignition timing, and that's set at the distributor and read at the crank pulley, so yes you can still adjust your ignition timing with the UR pulley installed.

alright thanks, cause it was confusing me. the stock crank pulley has 3 notches for the timing and the UN crank pulley has only 2.

Yeah, that's the one knock I've heard on those. Well, other than the accusation that w/o a damper you're risking crank bearing failure. You'll have to make your best guess or get an adjustable timing light.

i used the timing light to do it, and i saw the 2 notches one notch it was starting to stall out (retard) and i went to the other notch and my engine sounded cleaner so i left it at that. I felt a throttle response difference and just a little bit of a difference when i accelerate.

You're likely set at 16BTDC then. You might get away with 18, if you haven't jacked your compression and always use 92+ octane fuel.

Yes I heard setting it at 18 degrees for honda/acura engines is the best setting if u have a stock to mild bolt ons (I/H/E).

Is this true?

1 more thing, if i get cam gears, do u set the dist. back to normal at 16 degree (I think that is stock for most Honda/acuras) and use the cam gears to adjust the timing?

Yes setting the ignition timing at 18 generally results in a mild performance boost...around 2-3hp.

Nope. The gears set the cam timing relative to each other. This is completely different then changing ignition timing. You should recheck your ignition timing after chaning your cam gear settings however.
